Probiotics are live bacteria and yeast that are good for your digestive system. Our bodies are full of good and bad bacteria, but probiotics are the “good” kind. We all want the good bacteria in our digestive tracts because they help keep digestion moving smoothly and help eliminate the bad bacteria which creates a healthy balance.

Why do we need to consume probiotics?

We’ve all taken antibiotics at one point in our lives, and antibiotics kill off the good and bad bacteria. This depletes our digestive system of both types of bacteria, which causes our body to not work as properly as it should. Probiotics are beneficial to infants, children, and adults.

Good bacteria help support your immune system and control inflammation.  When we have enough good bacteria in our digestive tract it can help your body digest food more efficiently.

When taking a probiotic, what part of the body does it benefit?

The most common place probiotics are beneficial to is our digestive tract, but good bacteria is beneficial to the mouth, urinary tract, vagina, skin, and lungs.
