October is recognized as National Chiropractic Health month. The American Chiropractic Association and Venture Chiropractic are encouraging the public to prevent musculoskeletal aches and pains by being “active and adaptive” in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.  That means choosing healthy ways to adapt to the new routines such as paying extra attention to getting enough movement during the day, being aware of posture and ways to improve it, getting adequate rest, and managing stress. I wanted to share a couple of interesting and surprising facts that illustrate why staying active and chiropractic care are a winning team for all ages!

When you look at the numbers 94% of manual-thrust manipulation patients had a 30% reduction in lower back pain at week 4 in comparison to 56% of those seeking medical care only during that same time frame.

Another fascinating study demonstrated that workers with back injuries likelihood of surgery when chiropractic care was the first point of contact was 1.5% when compared to 42.7% when a surgeon/MD was the first contact.

And lastly, in a study involving 85,000 BCBS beneficiaries found that individuals seeking chiropractic care saved 20% on health care costs compared with care initiated by a medical doctor. And chiropractors show over and over that we are an effective and safe option for all individuals. Researchers have also found that chiropractic care has saved $83.5 million in annual savings when those on Medicare have a chiropractor as part of their health care team. Medicare patients seeking chiropractic care have fewer visits to primary care medical physicians.

I would encourage you to consider choosing chiropractic care first. When combined with medical care the best outcomes can be achieved. At Venture, we are advocates and love being part of your health care team by working with medical doctors, physical therapists, massage therapists, and mental health therapists. We need to focus on long-term results and proactive care instead of reacting to a problem or symptom when it is already here. Symptom and pain care can cost more money, keep you from enjoying the things you love, decrease work productivity, and decrease your quality of life. We provide both symptom and wellness care options at Venture Chiropractic.

We can do better. You deserve better. At Venture, we can help you experience a better quality of life by introducing you to chiropractic care, teaching you about posture awareness, and providing exercise support. If you are not sure how we can help or have never been to a chiropractor before we would love the opportunity to sit down with you and talk about your options. We are confident that you will love us because we are different. At Venture we are always here to help you move better, feel better, and be a better you!
