Insurance coverage can seem daunting sometimes and hard to understand.
Here are just a few of the questions I get on a regular basis:
What Insurance companies are Venture Chiropractic “In Network” for?
Venture Chiropractic is “In Network” for Blue Cross Blue Shield and Sanford Insurance subscribers.
We do take and will file for many other insurance companies, but your benefits would be “Out of Network”. We’d be happy to look those benefits up for you or you could contact your insurance company.
What is a deductible?
A specified dollar amount payable by the patient for certain covered services received during the benefit period.
Typically the deductible will need to be met prior to any benefits being paid by the insurance company.
What is a co-payment?
A specified dollar amount payable by the patient for certain covered services. Payment of the co-payment amount is due at the time of service.
Co-payment amounts do not apply toward the deductible or coinsurance maximum amounts.
What is co-insurance?
A percentage of the allowed charge for covered services that are the patient’s responsibility.
Example: The charge is $68, your co-pay is $20, if your coinsurance 20%, that would be 20% of the balance, $48. Total patient responsibility would be $29.60 ($20 co-pay, $9.60 coinsurance)
Do I pay at the time of service?
If we are filing an insurance claim on your behalf, your deductible, co-pay and/or co-insurance will be due at the time of service.
We do our best to estimate the cost of care at that time, but any remaining balance after insurance has processed will be your responsibility and an invoice will be sent to you.
Do you offer any kind of discount?
We do offer a 10% discount if you choose to pay in full at the time of service and not file any insurance claims. Remember I’m always happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have at any point in your treatment plan.
